If you are a man this is the event for you, there’s always more women there (who got stuck with platonic matches). I wouldn’t recommend the AI matching process, you seem to get stuck with who is available, not a diverse selection or somebody suitable for you. The format encourages a decent amount of networking.

Dividing the crowd up into groups means you have far fewer people to talk to, and if your matches ditch you like mine did, you're left standing there on your own for half an hour waiting for the next match. You can't even go find some other girls to talk to while you're waiting because literally everyone else is chatting with their matches. Completely fucked. I wouldn't do a Matchbox event with this setup again.

It really really match my expectations. I (bi female) was matched with 3 woman. 2 were straight and 1 was only interested in short-term, undefined relationships. The algorithm didn't match me with people who were looking for the same thing as me, or who would be romantically aligned with me. I had more 'success' talking freely with people at the event who weren't matches.

For me only having three matches through the night was what contributed to my disappointment. To wait so long and feel in the first minute that there was no interest felt awkward, then rude, my last match had either left or didn’t talk to me. I did have a nice conversation with a couple of people before the event started. My first group was in tight spot with too many people and I immediately felt claustrophobic and uncomfortable. I don’t think the questions got a sense of who would vibe. Adding something like “would you prefer a night out on the town or to be out in nature” would probably help me find a person I’d get along better with.

It was good to get matches that had similar hobbies, lifestyle and interests. Like conversations felt like that was something in common and to talk about. I do like the messaging feature, to find the next match but for me it was very glitching, I couldn't find my second match cause I could not see or receive their messages. But either way I still got to meet other people and have chats, as there were lots of people from different backgrounds too. The matching I feel like it did closely match people with similar interests and lifestyle. The email sent before the event was enough information to know what to expect with the matchmaking schedule. The venue at Riverland was actually nice though, super chill and nice view of the river to have conversations at, except the music was a bit too loud to even hear each other talk. Overall it was a good experience though, and nice to try something new.

I couldn’t see any of the people I matched with fitting into my life. We didn’t seem to share many interests or have similar lifestyles. While our conversations were polite, they were somewhat limited in terms of what we could share. If I am totally honest, I found myself paired with people I wouldn’t even be interested in becoming friends with. The people I spoke to outside of my matches were actually more engaging in interesting to me.

Absolutely terrible. From conception to execution a total unorganised catastrophe. The question whilst insightful had absolutely bearing on the matches. Let me explain I didn’t see a single person in their twenties matched with anyone in their forties so why as question to match people if the whole premise is based on age. You would have to have learning difficulties not to see that this is how is played out. Overall very poorly run and organised and will never do speed dating again after this experience.

The event was good overall, but I experienced some difficulties during the matching process. For my last match, the person did not show up at the designated meeting point. I sent her several messages, and she replied that she was at the bar. I then went to the bar, but she was not there. She later said she was coming, but unfortunately never arrived. I believe the event could be better organised. It would be helpful if the organiser personally introduced each match by saying something like, “This is your match, and this is their name.” Simply providing names can be confusing, as participants do not know what their match looks like or where they are located within a crowded venue. Overall, finding someone in a large crowd without a proper introduction can be quite difficult and may affect the experience for participants.
