It was fun, the music was too loud for proper conversation. No slight against Riley, but I selected to match with a woman or non-binary person and I was matched with a cis male.

As a black woman, two different men felt it was was their responsibility to inform me that they don’t like blank women- one of them was my match. Well, what he said was, “Wow! I’m surprised they would pair us together because black women are ugly!” He then left the venue.

Good concept, few women. I will need to try my events to see if the ratio gets any better.

The environment and area was fun! I had fun with the group of people I met and enjoyed meeting them. It’s something people need to realize it’s a “give energy, get energy” for these kinds of event. Understanding that just because you’re signed up for a singles event doesn’t mean you’ll be leaving with your person. Remember that you have to put effort to getting to meet people. The host is fantastic and takes care of the people who might feel uncomfortable. I had a sticky situation and she took great care of it and followed up about it. I would come to another event, it was fun to meet new people and seeing what’s there to offer!

Was nice and friendly upon her introduction, but when the event started she darted to join Group 1, making it 4 girls and 4 boys. Group 3 had 4 girls and 3 boys. Time passed after she mingled with them. Took some pictures and later discovered that me and 4 others in Group 2 were all boys. And soon told us to, “You are welcome to join the other groups even though they were in a different category as us and we wouldn’t go home with a date.” I might give it another try with a new host?
