Nice crowd, cool place, friendly people. Matchbox matches seemed pretty good even if I didn't form a romantic connection with mine and got more of a friend vibe.
Avani
I think asking for a preferred age range would be good, I was uncomfortable by the age of my match. Also there were many women that were uncomfortable by their matches / the people in general some sort of vetting may be good to have
Gio
It was decent. The last matchbox I went to I had more then 1 match but this time it was only 1 match. I felt like it would’ve been better if I matched with more than 1 woman.
Daniel
A lot of time was wasted waiting for the matches. You shouldn’t just get one match you should have x amount of time then you meet your second best match then third best then have time to mingle with others you’d like to talk to.
Alfredo
Everything was good and the event itself was run well but the venue was too small. I like the idea of the event, however people left early due to how crowded and loud it was
John
Very fun, the way they grouped us and gave us hints on who our matches were made it very fun!
Patrick
This event needs adjustments about match making because I didn't meet the love of my life at all having too many women having fun flings but not looking for commitment. There's gotta be an actual event where people want to look for serious relationships not fun flings at all.
Elizabeth
I was a little hesitant but decided to give it a go. To my surprise everyone was really nice and the vibe was amazing. I felt so safe and comfortable and it really made me feel so much better about these things. Everyone is in the same boat and I even made friends out of this highly recommended.
Corey
It was a great time meeting people and I vibed with my match and grabbed dinner afterwards. I would go back.
Kytana
Xavaar did a find job of putting the event together. The questions themselves didn’t hit any core points that would accurately match you with someone similar. Aside from physical attraction, it seemed like a lot of the other women I spoke with felt the same.
Candace
This was fun! I loved the venue. It was cute and such good vibes even though a bit crowded due to having such great turnout. I appreciated that it was well organized. I'd never experienced a matching map texting service before and that was pretty cool. Xavaar was a great host. I appreciated the warm welcome when I arrived :)

I think it was amazing. Only thing is how long we’re allowed to talk to our marches. I think maybe 10-15 min max is the sweet spot. That way, we’ll get to talk to more people. I was able to talk to only 3 that night and I think we talked for like half an hour per match.
Alicia
The event was good. It seemed like a lot of people left right after they got their matches though. It felt pretty organized
Zade
The problem was that the venue was a little small and I couldn’t hear anyone but other than that it was awesome!
Will
Fun event, didn’t meet like my future partner of anything, but it was fun to push myself out of my comfort zone
Dilya
The venue was too small, it was extremely crowded, loud and too dark. It was very hard to have a conversation with anyone.
Leonardo
Good Event
Justin
The venue was way too small…the room they stuffed us in was cramped. A lot of people felt that way too
Jason
The venue was too loud making it very hard to hear or speak to matches. Not a great value there was only opportunities to speak with three matches for 45 minutes each. That’s too long for a Speed Date and there were other women I would’ve liked to have met at the event.
Drew
I think the even was well organized to get a room of people who don’t know each other to get talking and interacting, which is great. I think there is a solid effort to match you with someone that makes sense, but when it comes to finally meeting that person, I found that very few actually really liked their match. In person interaction and chemistry don’t always match the results from a quiz

Awful crowd of men, algorithm didn’t work, will not be coming back.

Amazing vibe

If Matchbox was a publicly traded company, I would invest most of my money into shorting it. I didn’t meet a single person at the event that liked their match, but did meet several people who had been to other Matchbox events where nobody liked their matches there either. Physical attraction is a core part of matchmaking, which is not accounted for at all in this process, despite the ability to do so given this was AI powered. Age range preference wasn’t accounted for either. The most frustrating part is that it was harder to talk to the people who I was attracted to because I was split off with people who I wasn’t attracted to. Also, this event was not exclusively Thursday Dating, which meant there were plenty of people who weren’t single at the bar, defeating the point of going to a singles event. All around, it was a one star experience.
Zade
I didn’t like the fact it was only 1 match. Plus the place was hot as hell.
Dom
Good event, interesting format!

So my match was a red pill incel who told me he’s an alpha male and threatened to “unmatch” me in front of me cos of my “attitude” because everything coming out of his mouth was giving andrew tate and apparently my reactions were “attitude” for him meanwhile it was just me trying to lighten up the vibe… he also told me that i have to “earn it” so i can sit down?? IN A PUBLIC BAR?! Is crazy!!!! He was the worst omg even my friends who came with me were gagged like it’s the type of story people would not believe if i didnt have witnesses!! At the end of it, he said that he works with thursday?? Lowkey insinuating that he can ban me?! Lol ok?

I wouldn’t return. There were way more girls at the event than guys. My friend got matched with a girl (they are both straight) and I got matched with someone who left. I got a text after the reveal saying “Sorry I left…”. I would have liked a refund for my ticket. It was also too long of an event. 7-9 would have been sufficient.

I don’t recommend this event. The event was oversold for the space so it was really loud and you had to yell to hear each other. The host didn’t tell us how many matches we would get, so a lot of people left after their second match not realizing there would be a third match. My third match left early so I only got to talk to two people. I didn’t vibe with my first match at all, so I don’t think the survey did a good job matching us up. And each round was 30 minutes which felt way too long when you’re not compatible with them. Another thing I didn’t like was the website didn’t ask who you liked at the end. Instead, you can message any of the three people you were paired up with, but it’s really nerve wracking to try to set up a date with someone without knowing if there’s mutual interest. The whole event was stressful and awkward and made me feel bad about myself.

My complain is specific to the event setup / venue selection. The event took place at a restaurant in Seaport with waterfront view. The perfect outdoor spot to meet strangers for a chat. However the event was hosted in a crammed dark room, too small for the number of occupants. It was loud and hard to have a conversation. Some attendees grabbed a spot at the bar / normal table to chat. Event setup wise, it was not mentioned that you had to find your own match via text, which is not that big of a deal. It only became an issue when there are no clear sign designated for specific area for a match group. When the match notification is sent out, it became quite chaotic as everyone's randomly looking / asking for their match. The host was not super helpful and delegated all responsibilities to you. Overall, a client paid $30-$50 to do all the leg work of finding their partner to enjoy the experience. Not a great experience. This was shared by quite a few attendees at the event last night.
Lisa
This felt a lot like married at first sight style. The room was very small and difficult to get around. And you were stuck talking to someone that you may not jive with for an extended amount of time just because you “matched”. I actually enjoyed conversations more with people I wasn’t matched with. I think a speed dating style with a time limit would be better for these events. Also, if you can look through people who attended the event afterwards and like them on an app/online. Then if they like you back exchange info automatically. That format would be a lot less awkward.
Rika
I was really looking forward to this event because of the location, but it ended up being a waste of $27. The room was tiny, overcrowded, and unbearably loud — definitely not a good setup for a matchmaking event. On top of that, the drink situation was a mess, and the gender ratio was completely off (around 20% men and 80% women), which made no sense for this type of event. Overall, really disappointing and poorly organized.
