I love Thursday events but the social hall event space was just not right. It was loud as fuck. Like very loud in there, the atmosphere and space was not the right one for a public event.

I had a great time and met some great people. Im normally pretty shy and have a hard time approaching people. This made things easier
Ryan
The people there were very friendly and the Match making was surprisingly really fun! I’d definitely go to another match making event like this. Keep it coming!

I am a femme lesbian in my early 50s and was matched with two men as friends. It was degrading. If I didn’t feel to old to find a match before, I do now. At least it was free and I didn’t pay for humiliation.
Courtney
In theory this seemed like a good thing. But the matching kind of failed. My first match left before the event truly started it turns out. I'm assuming my 3rd did to. So while I talked to plenty of wonderful people, it wasn't because of the "matching"
Debbie
The algorithm was totally incorrect. I was paired up with a woman as my first match. I’m heterosexual so I don’t know how that happened. The guys that were paired up with me second and third choices or like 20 years younger than me not at all the match.
Dylan
Event was advertised as an intentional event. I talked to about 10 different women before the matchmaking, and most generally said they were here because their friends were here and wanted to just go with it. Nothing wrong with that, just seemed like there was less of an intentional approach at the event with most.

I just wanted to say that the event was good, but maybe the music in the background was a little too loud. A Recommendation I would give is to also find a place that plays a variety of music such as Salsa, Bachata, hip-hop, that also would encourage people to dance and start more conversations
Michelle
It was so hot in the space and everyone was matched and talking to their match in the same room. I was basically yelling to talk to the person across from me. Could barely hear what they were saying. Could barely hear the people on the microphone hosting as well.
Jacey
Too many people in a closed space, too hot, too loud. I had to scream at my matches the entire night.
Alanah
The event was fun! No pressure, just good vibes all around. The host was energetic and engaging. It’s better than swiping on the apps and a great way to get out there and socialize LOL. Even if you don’t click with your matches, you can still find really cool people to be friends with :)
Carson
I think I prefer open bar events. The matches went faster than expected

First Thursday Phoenix event - super interesting dynamic. Host wasn’t very friendly or helpful during this event. With this event being match making there is no obligation that your match has to show up, so you might not actually get to talk to anyone during the match period. You can always be matched platonically with friends instead of relationships, so be aware of that also!
Axel
Good event, got slit if people in the same area. Unfortunately, human nature is hard to control. There was a lot going on at the same time as this event which added some twists and chaos. It wasn’t bad but it didn’t help the situation. I don’t hold the host responsible as the venue coordinated the other items for sure.
Megan
It was ok, overpriced for what you get.. definitely Not worth $30 + tax, and I don’t get why Thursdays hasn’t allowed messaging on the app so people can actually talk after events, most people don’t ask for the others numbers so it’s hard to connect just relying solely on that. For matching it would be helpful to actually give us profiles, a photo, and do the values side in addition to all that for better matching as I wasn’t attracted to any of my matches
Sabrina
Loved the venue but they need to offer some kind of activity for getting to know people a little as a whole group. You also stay with the same people just move spots and there should be a way to not match with friends you attend with. Not worth the price if you don’t purchase early bird. Also, the event ended without any closing/closure.

The idea this match making event is fun and exciting, but it fell completely short. I felt as if my matches weren’t exactly on par for what I wanted or had put for the intention of the questions. I also feel like there wasn’t a good “shuffling” of matching people. In talking with my matches, we found out we are all the same star sign and our birthdays were all within a 2 week span. If it was one person I would think fate! But all 3 and that’s where I felt suspicious about it. The good thing about this event is everyone gets to mingle beforehand. So if you find a connection with someone (even if you don’t match with them) you can keep chatting with them at the end of the event.

The host who did the tickets was hot. I’m trans and it felt hard to not be able to understand how to navigate that there. Especially pricing and other things. But it was sort of cute. It just wasn’t my crowd. I might be more progressive and older then most the others. Also 30 for that is expensive. Could have been a free drink with that at least.
Arian
I thought this event was a great way to meet people and I love the idea of match making instead of having to approach people or stand around. However, I didn’t like how you had to go and find the person you match with I think name tags would be helpful instead of looking for your match. I also don’t feel the algorithm was accurate on the AI matchmaking because I don’t feel I shared the same values as the people I was matched with. Other than that the event had a great variety of people and it was a fun way to meet others!
Michael
As with apps and online dating, algorithms can be great at finding matches that “look good on paper.” In several Thursday (i.e. “IRL”) events, I honestly found better and greater compatibility with simply talking to women—even if we weren’t “matched.” For example, the questionnaire didn’t ask about specific hobbies, interests or politics. There were more men than women at last night’s event. Cool venue, although a little dark. Parking downtown is not always easy. The host and crowd were fine. It seemed pretty well-run.

This is my second time going and I saw the same guys as last time. I talked to new guys and they said they have been to a couple more events. It’s a red flag to think these guys have been to multiple events and still haven’t found someone. Seems like the guys aren’t taking it seriously. Also met a couple guys with friends who told us out loud they were just there to hook up and didn’t care about what the women had to say about themselves.

The venue was set up outside in 108F heat. Even though there were outdoor fans with misters they could have brought the event indoors where there was AC. The actual matching process was interesting with a countdown, but the matches were not accurate. I am a gay man who selected the prompt as such (it asks what sexual orientation you are), but I was matched with a young lady. Even though there were a limited amount of gay men, I wasn’t sure why I was matched with a young lady if that was not what I had expected. I don’t believe I’ll be signing up for another event. If there was more participants and more expectations on what was going to transpire, it would help. Also, I wouldn’t suggest having the event outside in the Arizona summer heat
Ankit
Overall, hats off to the team—I love the event! If I could offer two pieces of feedback for improvement: Walking into a room where people are already in groups can be intimidating and a bit of a confidence killer, especially if you're shy. A simple greeting is nice, but it's tough to introduce yourself to an existing It would be great if the matching/activities started right at the event start time (e.g., 8:00) rather than waiting until 8:30. Getting people mixing right away would really help break the ice.
Carrie
Honestly, I was disappointed by this event because the hosts did not appear to be LGBTQ+ and this was advertised as a “pride” event. The hosts also mingled with everyone else except my friend and I. The people in my group were rude when I walked over after they had already started talking (I was getting a drink when groups were formed). Finally, the categories for gender was not trans inclusive at all as the only box my friend could mark was “other”. Not to mention the fact that non-binary individuals had to pay more money than those who identify as “female” or “male”. I was not impressed with anything except the venue, and I thought this was not worth the price of attending.
