Venue was not great as people could not find where correct groups are, the male to female ratio was very skewed as well and I only got to talk to 1 match out of 3 as they were not found part of the group.

The ratios were a bit off, was very male heavy which sort of meant it just descended into people just walking around the bar trying to approach women, a bit like any normal bar which meant it was quite expensive at £30

The matchbox matching was good - asked and matched based on some core values like wanting children, monogamy etc. could go further on interests and lifestyle though. Overall there was a good crowd and nice hosts, although the music was a bit too loud to easily talk

It was OK, people were nicer than at most dating events. The ratio meant that men got matched with men for friends a lot, so be aware of that. Hosts were nice. But it was so loud, it was impossible to chat with anyone and made it much harder to approach people. Matches also often didn’t show up.

I feel there are important questions left out of the questionnaire that directly impact your matches such as if someone smokes (I hate tobacco and was matched with 2 men that were smokers), allergies to animals, limits on age… I wouldn’t return to this sort of event as I genuinely didn’t feel good.

The venue was not fit for this kind of event. It was really hard to find your matches as there was no space to move through the crowd. I only ended up finding one of my matches by chance and never found my groups. It was incredibly hot, not enough staff working the bar and far too many people in such a small space.

Very crowded and chaotic event, the host barely helps you meet your match and as a introvert and quiet person they barely helped, it was not a well run event at all i do not recommend. I prefer something similar to LAFS because they help you meet your match and get conversations going.

The idea and questionarre was good, but I think the tickets should be more focused on a ratio and perhaps to fill the questionarre after purchasing the ticket not on arrival to help with maintaining that balance. The questions should be also about what age range you are interested in meeting. Otherwise friendly enviroment and managed to meet few nice people indeed

They chose a tiny venue and squeezed 100+ people in so no one could move. Even if you managed to move around, they didn’t have any signage or staff to show you where each group was. Everyone I spoke to was so uncomfortable and disappointed, most people only found 1/3 matches. Really unpleasant as a first time back in the dating pool.

Pretty terrible event. Extremely overpriced for what it was. Venue was ripping everyone off with drinks. The gender balance was completely off and there were far too many people for the venue. To pay £30 and get friends matches is an insult. Could barely move around in the venue because it was so packed.

The guy I got matched with first was really weird, then today I found out he stalked me on Instagram to message me despite me giving out no information aside from my name. I’ve already put in a complaint with Thursday so it doesn’t happen to anyone else with this dude. I’d recommend just asking for first names so people can’t look you up. Thanks

Unfortunately I think with the number of people at the event and how small the venue was it all became very chaotic and overwhelming very quickly. There was hardly space to move through the venue and there were technical issues where you couldn't hear the host clearly as the microphone wasn't loud enough. Also the host did miss out an entire group so when the first drop happened, anyone in group 5 had no idea on where to go. I understand this is user error but also there was a delay in getting the event started. Just wanted to note you cannot get signal in the venue and if you do, it's very weak and the WiFi wasn't always working. This event relies on having good signal for it to work for people. So most people had to go outside to check the group and then go outside again check the match and come back in which then wastes time (because it was so busy and hard to walk through the venue) but also doesn't make for a good user experience

It was overcrowded and people didn't move once they paired up. Most people left after the first event. I got paired up with the same sex when I am not interested and there was clearly an age preference. Furthermore, the venue was too loud to speak with anyone. At one point, I had to scream. The group selection was the same every time and a 3:1 ratio of males to females. Not ideal.

I found Matchbox to be a really fun and clever concept as an alternative to a meet and mingle and speed dating event. It is particularly helpful for those who are too shy to approach a room full of people by themselves. Those attending should have an open mind that the matches are created to provide an opportunity for a connection - both in a smaller group setting and on a 1-2-1 basis. I really enjoyed it!

Generally negative experience, first match didn’t stick around long enough for the first round, second match was a bit rude if I’m being honest, and third one was a “friend” match. Not being funny but if I wanted to hang out with friends and experience no romantic connections I could have stayed at home and been 20-something quid better off and had a nicer time.

First match was nice, it was a little tricky as she had come with a friend who also seemed interested which threw things off a bit, perhaps people who come together should be matched in separate areas? Second match was a ‘friend’ as there were too many guys but we had a lovely time playing connect four (mini games for events may be a good shout) that being said I would have happily waited a bit longer to get another match with someone from my stated gender preference. Last match, it was really busy, and the room I went into everyone seemed paired up already so I ended up not meeting her.

The price of the ticket was nearly £27 and the algorithm only offered 3 matches. The questions provided and algorithm wasn't anywhere near sufficient to do its job. Out the the 3 matches only 2 were present in the room. Also, something as simple as name tags could have helped. The venue was too loud and customers from the adjacent spaces could wander and mix with the event participants. This was my first event with Thursday and wasn't impressed at all

This event was expensive £30 with £3 booking fee. Even early bird was £21 including fee. The bar was crowded and not well suited for constantly moving past to go to different groups. The cocktail I had there was nice though but 9% service on every drink seemed a bit steep. The set of questions is ultimately too vague to match people well. And the structure of the evening works against making good connections. You have time in each group to chat before your match is revealed and often you have to tear away from someone you’re actually connecting with to go to your “match”. Also, anyone who came to wingman or support you is also given matches. A simple singles meet-up where you’re free to chat with whoever would be far better. Definitely not worth the price. Zero effort from the host. All the participants were frustrated.

The environment was absolutely terrible to hold such a large amount of people. The high volume of individuals did not make it pleasant because you couldn’t walk!! The music choice was poor and too loud, which resulted in the difficulty of producing a high quality, deep level conversation. You’re always finding yourself saying “what did you say?” (Which gets embarrassing after the 3rd time) I matched with three people and did not find two of them, because again, the venue was way too busy and small!! Would not recommend at all. You need to adjust the music volume, music choice and invite less people. The ratio too was off. Much more men than women. Staff were friendly, but not attentive. Poor experience.

Honestly, the hosts were no where to be seen after they announce the rounds. The rounds were poorly done. No one knew where to go for groups so went anywhere. People dipped as well so didnt meet 1, which was a guy which leads to another point - gender ratio and age groups must be stated prior Also too small a venue for 100 people. Girls came with friends so they didnt want to socialise but among themselves like a club so not really there for eventing
