I thought it was a unique experience! I spoke to one of the ladies about her idea of doing a single parents one on a Saturday (as a lot of people have weekends with the other parent). I think that’d be super cool.

Pretty fun event over all, matched with the host herself unfortunately so no shot at conversation with how engaged they were with keeping the event entertaining so can't knock em for that. Pretty successful night for most and the location had good drinks and karaoke downstairs.

The hostess were very polite, energetic and made sure everyone knew what they needed to do to make sure matchbox worked for them. The event was very well run and was held at a very nice venue I'd like to go back to even it isn't for a special event.

This is definitely a cool and unique way to get out of the house and in the mix with your peers in the city and surrounding areas

Gabby and Sarah are excellent ! They’re always so sweet and charismatic, I don’t know how Matchbox would be better without them

Only change I'd make is throw in icebreakers, even if they're corny. I felt I had to crash conversations in the initial grouping.

Be wary that the advertised details may not be accurate. For example, it may say "Ages 24+" and then the hosts/hostesses may pull strangers in off the street to increase numbers at the last second. I got paired with a 22 year old fresh out of college, while most of the participants were more established like me. Wasted my time and hers.

I was hesitant to participate in this event because I am gay. However, I was told this event is open to all sexual orientations so I decided to sign up. Throughout the event, I received updates that there was a match for me, and I was excited to know that another gay man was participating. With each step, our group became smaller and I began to talk to the other men in my group hoping one of them would be my match. Long story short, my final match ended up being a “friend match” and I experienced an extremely awkward interaction with the straight male who was my match. I appreciate the attempt at inclusivity, but I felt duped and embarrassed. The organizers of this event really need to be more mindful about luring in and deceiving participants who are not heterosexual. Want to include people who are homosexual or bisexual? Great! Make a separate event for us that is clearly labeled to all attendees. Don’t throw us into a heterosexual dating pool just to up the numbers at your event.

Interesting concept, but the matching algorithm needs serious refinement. The hosts were energetic and the overall organization was professional, which created a welcoming atmosphere at first. However, I found the AI-matching component quite disappointing. I felt that the 'deep questions' used by the AI were rather superficial and failed to capture the true complexity of a person's character. In my case, due to an imbalance in the guest pool, the algorithm matched me with another man for a 'friendship match' based on very vague traits like 'not being spontaneous.' It felt like the system was just trying to fill gaps rather than create meaningful connections. For someone looking for depth and genuine compatibility, this format might feel frustrating.

The host Sarah was very friendly and outgoing, I did not talk with Gabby but seemed nice. It was confusing at first and rather unorganized but could be because of my first time. The questions were lacking when forming connections. No questions that make or break relationships, careers, financial status, etc. The “final match” should have a five minute timed interaction to avoid scenarios where a person is uncomfortable with their match. Multiple people stated their match made them uneasy with no way out. People need thoroughly screened prior, as one person was well into their 40s lying about their age to attend… not to mention when talking with him he made me overly uncomfortable. It’s a safety and liability risk. Would be willing to go to the event if I knew more about those that would be in attendance prior; a picture, their background, what they’re looking for otherwise it’s a waste of my time. I was one of the lucky ones that didn’t hate my match but still feel it was a miss.
