I liked the event in every way. Every bit helps break the ice. I dislike throw a bunch of people in a room and hope for the best style events. I really like events that help people mingle. More AI and fund events please!

The venue was a generic bog standard venue did not stand out. The boardgames they had sucked. At least the music was inoffensive. And the ladies helped find one of my matches.

It was interesting and unique experience. The AI matching was fun because we got to speak to people one on one and in group style. The process was like a mystery.

It's better to group people by age; young people are interested in young people. Although it was interesting just to get to know each other and chat, many come for love, not friendship.

Well done, 3 matches instead of 1 is a great thing. The only issue I found on the night which is unforgivable was the volume the DJ played his music at. The event is to meet, mingle and more with other guests and having to shout to hold a standard conversation is unacceptable. (this was in the main bar area and tabled area)

A 20 year old man was matched with a 65 years of grandma. Seriously flawed. The devastation on his face and her trying to manage the situation was unnecessary and uncomfortable for all parties. I would never go to an open age event again. Better to go where there is an age bracket.

Questions need to be a bit more helpful. There was no mention of asking for people's height which can be a significant deal breaker for many people if taller/shorter. Also perhaps matching people by type of industry they work in and sports they play etc. I don't feel the matches were particularly helpful this time at all.

I felt like the whole experience was draining, and the people i matched were really not interested. Im quitting trying to date this night made me feel so bad. I guess the organisers were fine. But would have been nice to know it was upstairs. So honestly a horrible night for me and the matches were bad

I absolutely loved this event. I was nervous at first but the hosts explained everything very well and made me feel very comfortable. It was very exciting being matched with guys I probably wouldn't usually talk to first. Even though I didnt pursue any of the men any further, we were very well matched it terms of personality. I would definitely attend again

Having 3 matches was better but one was a woman (friendship match??). She didn’t even turn up. Talking to a few others that also got stood up, this was common. Many more women than men and then they just took off sometime during the evening. My friend’s first match wasn’t even there for that. It was too loud to talk at the DJ booth. It would be good to be able to report the ‘no-shows’ so that they aren’t rematched in the future rounds. That was a waste of time.

Honestly could have used AI to generate better more pertinent questions to create better matches. Wouldn’t have mattered for my demographic (40 years old) though as anyone between 40-60 was simply lumped into the same group. Would have been nice to have had a 35-45 group. Host was also kind of rude. Experience was not worth the $35, but good on them for hooking into “ai” craze.

I was pretty cynical about the whole process ahead of time, and I’m still not sold on there being any deep intentionality behind the matchmaking process. But I ended up enjoying myself and having a good evening with a nice group of people. And, to the credit of Matchbox, I definitely matched with the right kind of person. I wouldn’t wholeheartedly endorse it yet, but I can definitely see myself giving it another go if it’s relevant to me again in future.

Was a good initiative but I don’t think the system is working. Many people left even before the match revealing cause the small groups where they were didn’t have anyone that they liked Would work better if you put on several matches, like many speed dates of 10 minutes. Only one match with someone you are not attracted to is frustrating Also, 65 dollars in total to get there and have a drink? Nah

Horrible experience for a gay person like me, there’s no much people and the selection wasn’t accurate at all, it was really uncomfortable. I also went w a couple of friends and we all hated it, in my group, nobody was happy w the matching either. Waste of money, didn’t vibe w the table, didn’t vibe w the questions which I think are really bad questions, I only appreciated the host and the service was outstanding. The manager (I think he was the manager) is really handsome and gentle. If you’re gay or part of the LGTBQ+ just be nice w yourself and don’t go.
