For $50, including a ~$12 glass of wine, it was not really worth it. Also it’s advertised as 3 matches but 1 of them is a “friend match” because the gender ratio was skewed. The women were lovely people, but the men were weird. This is probably a problem of most singles events but this was my first and probably last so

This event felt like it borrowed the worst aspects of dating apps and forced them into a real-world setting, without fixing the underlying problems. It relies too much on algorithmic matching, as if connection can be reduced to a questionnaire and backend logic. The world of love isn’t logical—it unfolds organically, with nuance and serendipity. Forcing it through a rigid system strips away what makes it meaningful and encourages shallow, rushed exchanges—replicating the disposable, swipe-driven mindset of dating apps. Real chemistry doesn’t operate on a timer. Overall, the event felt over-engineered. It tried to optimize connection instead of creating an environment where connection can naturally happen—and that’s where it failed. The format created an uneven dynamic—some people thrived, while others were at a disadvantage. Put the phones down and create a space where people can actually connect. That said, bringing people together is still a step in the right direction.

I've been to a few SOSO events, and my favorite event I've been to so far was a meet your match one! It gives a little more structure than the free for all of a general social event - which is exactly what I'm looking for! I feel like I met more people that I vibe with at this event than I have at any other events

As usual Steph and Mackenzie pulled off another awesome event at Bodega! I don’t know how they do it, but they gather wonderful people! Great vibe, venue, people and hosts!
